SALVATORE M. DEBUNDA, ESQUIRE
Many of the members of the PTHA already know me. I am completing my fourth three-year term as a Director, 1st Vice President and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the PTHA.
I live in Blue Bell and I am one of the shareholders of the law firm of Pelino & Lentz, P.C. and Chairman of its Corporate Department. I have owned and raced horses since 1988. During those 19 years, I have been involved in many aspects of the equine business - racing, breeding and pinhooking as well as racing partnerships.
During the last twelve years as a Director and Officer of the PTHA, I have invested a lot of time and energy in many important matters and projects affecting your lives - negotiation of a new live racing agreement, establishment of a Horsemen’s Purchasing Association to provide feed and shavings at reduced prices, establishment of horsemen’s rights to equal treatment under the law, establishment of a facility improvement program for the backstretch as well as the new paddock, improvement in medical services to the PTHA members and many other programs which have benefited many of the PTHA members. I was also the drafter and chief lobbyist for most the horsemen’s language contained in the recently enacted Pennsylvania Slots Bill, a Bill that will dramatically improve both purses and the facilities under which the members of the PTHA board and race their horses.
