A unique equine educational seminar called “The Groom Elite Program” began at Philadelphia Park on June 16, 2005. The five week program consists of 30 hours of intensive instruction covering all the duties and responsibilities of a licensed racehorse groom. Sponsored by the generous contribution of the Philadelphia Park Horsemen’s Association (PTHA). The Granny Fund provides financial assistance for licensed stable employees or assistant trainers at Philadelphia Park. Applications for this grant must be made 30 days prior to beginning the course of program of study.
